Bonding

Bonding uses tooth-colored materials to replace missing tooth structure or hide cosmetically unappealing minor defects in a tooth including chips, discoloration, and minor spacing irregularities.

Bonding can be used for restorative or cosmetic purposes:

  • Repair decay teeth (composite resins are used to fill cavities)

  • Used as alternative to amalgam fillings

  • Protect a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed

  • Repair chipped or cracked teeth

  • Improve appearance of discolored teeth

  • Close spaces between teeth

  • Make teeth look longer

  • Change the shape of teeth
